Saga Castle Park |

Saga park is alongside of Saga castle remains-the historical worth of the Meiji Era. It is surrounded by moats on three sides, water birds and carps are swimming in the water, there are big camphor trees over 300 years old and willows on the edge of the moats. The planned area is about 31.8 hectares and they started the first-stage of the construction from 1961 and it was completed in 1966. The Second-stage was started in 1968, and they have been developing the area as "Forest of History" since 1993.
They developed promenade all over the area and it become a public recreation area surrounded by water and green so it was selected as "Best 100 National Urban Park", and "100 selections of Japanese Historical Park."
There are various cultural buildings like the killer whale gate of Saga castle, Saga castle History museum, Saga Prefectural Museum, Museum of Art, gymnasium, prefectural library, children's park and tea room in the park.
